SAS 70 Type II Audits | How to Begin the Audit Process

If you company is embarking on a SAS 70 Type II audit, then please be advised that the best way to begin the actual audit process is to conduct a SAS 70 Readiness Assessment.

The Readiness Assessment is a vital and core component of the overall audit process, as it helps identify and uncover the following:

  • Any gaps, deficiencies, or weaknesses within your current control environment structure.
  • Give recommendations for improving upon and strengthening your control environment.
  • Helps better assess and understand the true scope of the audit.
  • Gives a service organization a good interpretation and understanding of what types of benchmarks, standards, and frameworks the auditor will be utilizing during the SAS 70 Type II audit.
